Modric's response when asked about Premier League return, makes Tottenham feelings clear

Luka Modric Croatia

The former Tottenham playmaker is currently enjoying life at Real Madrid.

Luka Modric says he doesn't have any unfinished business in the Premier League and wants to remain at Real Madrid for as long as possible, according to the Daily Mail.

But the Croat says he had four great years at Tottenham Hotspur and will always be grateful to the club for how they treated him during his time in north London.

Modric starred for Tottenham on these shores before securing a move to Real Madrid.

When asked whether he has unfinished business in the Premier League, Modric replied: "No, I don't look that way.

"I had four great years in Tottenham and I enjoyed my time there. I had support from everyone - from the fans, especially - and I will be always grateful for all love that they showed me during these years.

"I still have two and a half more years on more contract and I will try to be here as long as possible."

Recently, some Spurs fans on HITC Sport have been comparing Mauricio Pochettino's current side and Harry Redknapp's star-studded collection of individuals.

And it was suggested that Tottenham would have the Premier League title already wrapped up this season if they still had Modric and Gareth Bale.

It's difficult to disagree, with the Croat rated as one of Real Madrid's leaders let alone one of Tottenham's best in recent years.
