Jamie Carragher jokes about becoming Liverpool manager on one condition

The Reds legend been discussing his beloved club with a certain ex-team-mate.

Jamie Carragher has joked about becoming Liverpool manager - if Luis Suarez returns to Anfield as a striker, according to the Daily Mail.

Indeed, the 38-year-old interviewed the Uruguayan this week and cheekily asked if he will become his first signing as Liverpool boss.

And he also joked that he'll start doing his badges if Suarez comes back in three years.

Here's the relevant section of his interview with Suarez in the Mail:

"CARRAGHER: So you can become my first signing if I become Liverpool manager then?

"SUAREZ: When are you going to become the manager?

"CARRAGHER: When are you going to be ready to come back?

"SUAREZ: (laughing) Shall we say three years?

"CARRAGHER: I’ll start doing my badges now then!"

All joking aside, Carragher as Liverpool manager would be a dream come true for many. That would also be the case with Steven Gerrard and, as a less conventional alternative, Gerrard and Carragher together.

Kenny Dalglish's transition from player to manager was something Reds fans cherished and, with less and less homegrown players making their mark at Anfield, it would be brilliant to bring two of Liverpool's most iconic names - ever not just in recent times - back to the club.

However, Jurgen Klopp is a popular man with Liverpool right now and the hope will be Carragher or Gerrard only succeed him after several glorious years on Merseyside.
