Five facts about Manchester United debutant Donald Love

The 21-year-old has come on for his debut against Sunderland.

This weekend is Valentine's weekend so what better time to give a Manchester United debut to 21-year-old defender Donald Love.

He came into the game in the 38th minute after a serious looking shoulder injury suffered by Italian international Matteo Darmian - yet another defensive injury for United.

So what can we tell you about him?

Here are five facts.

1) Love was born in Rochdale and is making his breakthrough at United quite late. He turns 22 in 11 days.

2) Love joined up with United at the age of seven and was in fact watched by Sir Alex Ferguson himself during his early days in local football.

3) Most comfortable at right-back but can also play in the heart of defence.

4) Despite being born in Rochdale the defender actually represents Scotland at youth level. He has played for the under-17s, under-19s and last year made his under-21 debut for Ricky Sbragia's men.

5) Earlier this season Love was loaned out to Wigan Athletic. He impressed in his eight appearance for Wigan before heading back to Old Trafford.
