The 30-year-old striker was a negative despite another great day for the Saints.
What a brilliant run of form the Saints are on and what a fantastic situation they find themselves in.
However, Southampton were only 1-0 winners against Swansea City and, while that was all that's needed, they could have been more effective up front. Namely, Graziano Pelle could have done better - and many fans are calling for the Italian to now be given a rest after a poor display against the Swans.
Indeed, several players impressed for Southampton on Saturday. Oriol Romeu, James Ward-Prowse and more did the business for the South Coast side.
Pelle, however, frustrated supporters with a display many thought was well below par. And, with the likes of Charlie Austin lying in wait, plenty on social media feel it's time for the Italian to be dropped...
Sorry to say this, but think Pelle has had his time.......#saintsfc— Jason Lawson (@jase1962) February 13, 2016
I do believe we will be selling pelle in he summer! It would be a shame but we probably use the money for good! #saintsfc— Joe Sisson (@Flojo1987) February 13, 2016
That has to be Pelle last start for a while #saintsfc— Kevin King (@LegohairHead) February 13, 2016
Koeman’s preference for Pelle at times is very frustrating #saintsfc— Neil (@saints247) February 13, 2016
The fact Pelle seems untouchable actually does my head in at times! His ineffectiveness outweighs his effectiveness #saintsfc— Matt Ashley (@MattAshley1) February 13, 2016
Pelle completely anonymous. Might as well be playing with 10 again. Get Austin on!! #saintsfc— Oscar Easton (@Ozzyeaston) February 13, 2016
