The Barcelona defender has picked James Milner as the most annoying player he's come up against.
The Barcelona and Brazil full-back has faced Milner on six separate occasions in his career, battling him three times against England and three times while he was at Manchester City.
The last one of those was against City in the Champions League last season, a game which infamously saw Milner nutmegged by star man Lionel Messi.
And despite having the Argentine maestro on his side on a regular basis, as well as the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Alves says that Milner is easily the most annoying player he has come up against.
“I have faced many, but the most annoying was James Milner,” Alves told The Times.
‘He follows you forward and follows you backwards. It's very difficult because he attacks you and defends you, and then attacks you and defends you again.”
Milner will now be focused on using that annoying work ethic that Alves describes to get Liverpool back into Europe next season.
They face a fight to do that though, with a place in the top four looking highly unlikely given the gap between them and those currently in the top four.
They also face a fight just to make the top six, with the likes of West Ham United, Everton and Southampton all also competing for those places.
