Where are they now? The Leeds United XI that beat Middlesbrough 1-0 at Elland Road last season

Managed by Dave Hockaday with Billy Sharp scoring the winner.

Leeds United welcome Middlesbrough to Elland Road on Monday night, with the visitors top of the Championship table.

Of course Leeds will be hoping for a repeat of the same fixture last season. Of course that game occurred all the way back in August 2014.

On the 16th August Leeds United, managed by Dave Hockaday, bounced back from opening day defeat to Millwall with a 1-0 win v Boro at Elland Road.

The team has changed a lot since then, with seven of the starting XI that day no longer at the club,

So where are they now?

GK: Marco Silvestri

Still with the club and certainly improving. The Italian is still prone however to the odd mishap.

DR: Sam Byram

The Leeds youth product never got to signing a contract extension at the club, even though the fans were even calling for it back then.

He was sold to West Ham United this January.

DL: Stephen Warnock

The emergence of Charlie Taylor saw him surplus to requirements. He left for Derby County in January 2015 where he was sent off on debut. He remains at the iPro Stadium.

DC: Liam Cooper

Still at the club and potentially Leeds' player of the season in 2015-16 so far.

DC: Jason Pearce

The former club captain was sold to Wigan Athletic in January 2015. He remains at the DW Stadium where he is a first-team regular at the League One outfit.

MF: Rudolph Austin

Was not offered a new deal at the end of the season. After being denied a work permit moves to other UK clubs fell apart and he joined Danish giants Brondby in September 2015.

MF: Tommaso Bianchi

After a string of injuries he found himself out of the Leeds first-team. Loaned out to Ascoli last month with a view to a permanent deal. Was sent off on his debut for his new team.

MF: Luke Murphy

Was made an outcast by Hockaday's successor Darko Milanic but came back to the fore under Neil Redfearn.

Currently struggling for his best form at Elland Road.

FW: Souleymane Doukara

His time at Leeds looked to be up but he has been in good form in recent months and re ains a first-team player.

FW: Nicky Ajose

A Hockaday signing this was one of just four appearances for Leeds. Spent time on loan at Crewe Alexandra.

Joined Swindon Town permanently in the summer and has scored an impressive 14 goals in 23 games for the League One outfit.

ST: Billy Sharp

It never happened for the Yorkshireman at Elland Road, as hard as he tried. His winning goal in this game remained his best impact for Leeds.

Joined his beloved Sheffield United in the summer and has 14 goals in 33 games this season.

The Bench

Michael Tonge came off the bench, but the veteran played his last game for Leeds on Boxing Day 2014 before leaving on a free in the summer. Currently at Stevenage.

Dominic Poleon also came on that day. He left the club less than a month later, joining current club Oldham Athletic.

Other players on the bench who are no longer at the club include current free agent keeper Stuart Taylor and Fulham striker Matt Smith.

Scott Wootton remained an unused substitute, as did the then little known Charlie Taylor. Lewis Cook came on for his first league appearance at Elland Road.

The Gaffer

Dave Hockaday became the first managerial casualty of the season at Elland Road with this going down as his only league win. He went to Swindon Supermarine, popped up as Coventry City caretaker and then had a forgettable stint as Kidderminster Harriers boss.

Now running an academy in Wiltshire.
