The 22-year-old has recently been linked with a move to the Premier League club.
The Red Devils had been linked with a potential £35m swoop for the 22-year-old (via The Sun), but it appears that they may have to switch their attention to other possible targets.
The Sun claims that Icardi is enjoying working under Roberto Mancini, and the desire to play in the Champions League would currently put him off a move to United.
While Inter are currently fourth in Serie A - and thus, would not qualify for next season's competition unless they moved up at least one position - the Nerazzurri arguably have a better chance of making it into the Champions League than United do currently.
Inter are on a dreadful run of form - having won just one of their last six league games - but are just one point behind Fiorentina in third. Meanwhile, United are currently six points adrift of the top four so have plenty of work to do if they hope to book a place in Europe's premier competition.
However, should they manage to catch one of the sides above them, and Inter's poor run continues, then perhaps Icardi will have a different view on whether he wishes to move or not.
