West Ham will take on Norwich away from home at Carrow Road in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and Owen has backed the Hammers to pick up all three points from the encounter.
“The wheels have well and truly come off Norwich’s league form of late, and their 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday was their fifth defeat in a row, in which they have conceded 16 goals,” the former Liverpool striker wrote on Colossusbets.com. “That is obviously relegation form, and they are now odds-on for the drop.
“And it just goes to underline how quickly things can change in this league. In a run of seven league games in a month from late November, they drew with Arsenal and Everton, beaten Man Utd away, and secured home wins over Villa and Southampton. That is top-six form!
“But those performances now seem light years away, and I take West Ham to put their weekend 1-0 loss at Southampton behind them, and – fresh from their extra-time FA Cup defeat of Liverpool on Tuesday night – win this game 2-1.”
West Ham are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 39 points from 25 matches.
The Hammers returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening, getting the better of Liverpool 2-1 at the Boleyn Ground in London in the FA Cup fourth-round replay.
Slaven Bilic’s side will be favourites to win against Norwich, who are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Canaries are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points from 25 matches, a point behind 17th-placed Newcastle United.
