The Citizens will take on Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
“City are a frustrating side, in that they have so much talent that you really think they should be strolling home in this league,” Owen wrote on Colossusbets.com.
“An incoming Pep Guardiola or not, you would hope that Pellegrini would get a reaction after that loss to Leicester though, and I can see them just having enough to see off Tottenham 2-1.”
“Man City have to win after last weekend to keep pace with Leicester,” Barnes wrote on Titanbet.co.uk. “Spurs are a decent side and are also in the title race, but I think home advantage will tell here. Goalscorers – Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane.”
City are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 47 points from 25 matches. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are six points behind leaders Leicester City and a point behind second-placed Tottenham.
Playing at home will give the Citizens an advantage, and so will the fact that - on paper - they have better players.
Spurs, tough, are in better form and will head into the match against City on Sunday evening on the back of a narrow 1-0 victory over Watford at White Hart Lane in the Premier League. The North London outfit are on a seven-game winning run in all competitions.
