The former Hammers were joined by Stan Collymore in tweeting their praise to the club.
The French midfielder has been the star man for the Hammers this season, with a series of impressive displays making a mockery of the £10 million they paid to sign him from Marseille.
His performances have not gone unnoticed either, with the Sun suggesting that Manchester City were eyeing a big money move for him in the summer.
That seems unlikely now though, with his current club moving quickly to sign him up to a new and improved deal that sees him secured until 2021.
And following the announcement of his new contract, Hutchison praised his former club for getting the deal done, and was joined by fellow former Hammer Trevor Sinclair and pundit Stan Collymore in doing so.

The Hammers will now be hoping that the Payet news can give them a timely boost and spur them on to secure European football this season.
He has been influential in their rise to sixth place this season, as well as playing a big part in their progress in the FA Cup, and is key to their hopes both this season and next.
