Norwich will take on West Ham at home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. The Hammers have a better team and are in better form, but Gray has backed the Canaries to pick up all three points from the encounter at Carrow Road.
“Norwich need a victory,” the former Scotland international wrote on Paddypower.com. “The thing in their favor is that the season length is starting to affect West Ham. They’ve played more games than anyone and had to go to extra time during the week.
“I fancy Norwich. This is one of those games that desperation brings a result. Norwich were bad last week against Villa apart from the last 10 minutes. Maybe a 2-0 scoreline and look for Wes Hoolahan as first goal scorer.”
Norwich are struggling for survival in the Premier League and are in real danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Canaries are third from bottom in the league table at the moment with 23 points from 25 matches, a point behind 17th-placed Newcastle United.
It is a bold and shocking prediction from Gray, and one that many Premier League observers will not agree with.
Despite the home advantage that Norwich have, they simply do not have as good a team as London outfit West Ham do.
