The French international continues to try and better himself.
This week saw one of Tottenham Hotspur's more experienced players comment on the talent at Spurs. Frenchman Hugo Lloris was saying how the Tottenham first-team young players did not yet know quite impressive they could become.
One of those young talents is Eric Dier.
The Sporting Lisbon academy graduate has been excellent for Spurs this season, playing in a defensive midfield role.
He has revelled in the role, having played most of his football up until now as a central-defender and he has added some extra steel to the Spurs midfield.
He spoke to the Tottenham Hotspur website earlier today and it seems that Lloris is not content on just being the old hat.
Dier made it clear that the French international was still pushing hard every day to improve himself at Tottenham Hotspur:
“We train hard every day and the only aim is to improve. We’re all young and we all want to keep on improving. Hugo Lloris is one of the most experienced players here but he always wants to improve and wants to get better and that’s the perfect example for everyone to follow.
“We’re all young but we don’t want any excuses like ‘they’re young, they won’t be able to handle it’ so we work hard every day to try and improve as individual players and as a team and the manager won’t settle for anything less.”
The captain has been integral to Spurs' success, even if the prevalence of David De Gea, Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois does not see him get the respect he deserves.
But if Spurs do go on to win the Premier League title this season there is no doubt that Lloris would have played an integral role toward that success.
