Indeed, asked in a West Ham interview about which team-mate he'd vote off the X Factor first, the 22-year-old name-dropped Austin from Leeds.
He feels the Jamaican's voice is just awful...
Byram told the West Ham site: "Rodolph Austin from Leeds United. He was my room-mate when we used to travel and his voice was awful! He could not sing."
Austin is now with Brondby, while Byram has made a promising start to life with the Hammers.
With both having left, it's interesting to note just how different the current Leeds side is to the one that graced Elland Road last season.
That said, plenty of United's key players have remained. Their back line is still similar and the likes of Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor and co are very much a big part of Leeds' plans.
The Yorkshire side face Middlesbrough in the Championship next Monday night, while West Ham travel to Norwich City in the Premier League this weekend.
