Report: Sheffield Wednesday want one of Premier League duo on loan

Sheffield Wednesday are keen to sign either Everton’s Darron Gibson and Watford’s Adlene Guedioura, according to a report.

According to a report in the Sheffield Star, Sheffield Wednesday are keen to utilise the emergency loan window.

Although the Owls have already signed six players on loan, including Aiden McGeady from Everton in January, Carlos Carvalhal is keen to add to his squad.

Wednesday want to add options in central midfield, with Everton’s Darron Gibson and Watford’s Adlene Guedioura are high up on the Yorkshire side’s wishlist.

Despite the Owls’ intention to bring in players, Carvalhal is said to be in no rush to make additions.

The loan window closes on March 24th, and it is believed that Wednesday could wait until the last minute before forcing through a deal.

Wednesday already have one of the largest squads in the Championship, but they are determined to strengthen as they look to mount a promotion push.

The Owls are currently occupying the last play off spot, but given their rapid rise up the table, they may feel that claiming a place in the top two is not impossible.
