People News: Barclays, Morgan Stanley

Rich Ricci, the former head of investment banking at Barclays and one of ex-Chief Executive Officer Robert Diamond’s top lieutenants, has joined a London-based foreign exchange trading platform as chairman.

Bloomberg News reports that Ricci, 52, will help to oversee growth plans at FreemarketFX, which matches currency trading requirements of companies and consumers, according to an e-mailed statement on Wednesday. The Financial Conduct Authority-authorized platform was started by former Deutsche Bank and MF Global Holdings banker Alex Hunn in 2014.

In the meantime, Reuters reports that Raj Dhanda, the Morgan Stanley banker best known for running the firm's global capital markets group until a reshuffle last year, has retired, according to an internal memo seen by IFR.

Dhanda was MS head of investment products and services in wealth management and had been with the high-profile bank for 26 years.

Last year as part of a new training scheme Dhanda was moved to wealth management, taking a position formerly held by Andy Saperstein.
