Matt Le Tissier has told Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, which was broadcast on 6th February, that he does not agree with Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino’s suggestion that Harry Kane is as good as Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
Pochettino explained to the London Evening Standard last week that he felt that Kane was on the same level as Aguero.
And although Le Tissier claims that the striking counterparts have played to a similar standard this season, he feels it is a ‘no contest’ who has more quality.
“If he’s talking about the short-term, and just this season, then, because of the goals that they’ve scored, yes [they have been on the same level],” Le Tissier said.
“But, if you’re asking me which one I would have in my team it would be no contest. Aguero would be in my team.”
Kane and Aguero are set to be in direct competition at the weekend, when Tottenham take on Manchester City.
Aguero, meanwhile, has the same amount of goals in 25 games.
The former Atletico Madrid man goes into City’s match against Tottenham with seven goals in his last five matches, and he will be required to keep this goalscoring form up if Manuel Pellegrini’s side are to get the three points on Sunday.
