Martin Keown says Spurs can win the title...but hopes he is wrong

Tottenham Hotspur are fighting Arsenal, Manchester City and Leicester City at the top of the table.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has been discussing the Premier League title race in his latest column for the Daily Mail.

The ex-Gunner knows all about the fierce rivalry in North London. However he cannot help but acknowledge the impressive squad Mauricio Pochettino has built at White Hart Lane since he arrived.

When asked who he thought would come out on top come May, Keown said, “It’s hard to say as an Arsenal man, but I do think Spurs can win it. I just hope I’m wrong about that.”

Tottenham are currently second in the table, five points behind leaders Leicester City with 13 matches remaining.

Next up for Spurs is a huge away match against Manchester City on a weekend of Premier League six-pointers.

If Tottenham win they will go four points clear of Manuel Pellegrini’s side but if City triumph they will leapfrog the North London club.

Whatever happens on Sunday nothing can be taken away from Tottenham for their efforts so far this season and the former Arsenal player, albeit reluctantly, knows Pochettino is on the verge of something truly great.
