West Ham United beat Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup last night.
West Ham dumped Liverpool out of the FA Cup in extra-time last night, with Angelo Ogbonna scoring a 120th minute winner.
A number of members of Slaven Bilic’s side all impressed, but Hammers fans were quick to give Obiang a mention for his contribution.
The 23-year-old has struggled for appearances at Upton Park this season, following a summer switch from Sampdoria, but he showed his class against Liverpool.
Despite making just seven league starts all season, Obiang looked composed and combative in the midfield of the park for the Hammers as they picked up a valuable victory.
And here is the best reaction from West Ham fans to Obiang’s display against Liverpool yesterday on social media.
@WHUFC_News Obiang is far more consistent than Song, but Song puts in those occasional world class games I suppose? I prefer Obiang myself.— Jack Allum (@westham009) February 9, 2016
Ogbonna was already my man of the match quality player , ogbonna & obiang two top signings #whufc— Bob Clark (@bobclark56) February 9, 2016
Bilic has already stated that he would rather win the FA Cup than finish in the top four this season, and his side are now a step closer to achieving that goal.
West Ham’s next FA Cup tie comes against Championship side Blackburn Rovers, making them the favourites to progress to the sixth round.
