West Ham owner David Gold shares his delight on Twitter after Liverpool win

The Hammers secured their progress in the FA Cup with a late header from Angelo Ogbonna.

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has shared his delight on Twitter after his side beat Liverpool in the FA Cup.

The Hammers took on the Reds in a fourth round replay at Upton Park on Tuesday evening, with the first clash at Anfield having finished 0-0.

The replay followed a similar story after Michail Antonio’s goal was equalised by Philippe Coutinho, before defender Angelo Ogbonna rose highest in the 121st minute to head home Dimitri Payet’s cross and send his side into the fifth round.

That last minute strike was one that clearly delighted the West Ham faithful, and owner Gold was among them, sharing his delight on Twitter the day after the victory.

Slaven Bilic’s side will now be hoping they can progress far in the competition after their success against Liverpool.

They face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the fifth round and would be confident of progressing against Paul Lambert’s relegation threatened side.

With several Premier League sides also all meeting each other in the next round also, that gives the Hammers an even greater chance of going far in the competition this season.
