Tottenham Hotspur have worked very hard to get where they are in the league.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of a wonderful season but a recent report from Sky Sports may have shown one key reason for the North London club’s surge to second in the Premier League table.

For all Harry Kane’s goals, Dele Alli’s magic and Toby Alderweireld’s defensive nous, hard work is at the centre of Tottenham’s form of late.

According to the recent report, three Tottenham players are in the top 10 when it comes to distance run per match, with Alli second, Christian Eriksen fourth and Erik Lamela seventh.

Alli has covered a remarkable 231.69km in 1757 minutes on the pitch, which works out at an average of 11.86 km per league game.

As for Eriksen, he averages 11.55km while Argentine international Lamela averages 11.36km.

When you consider Tottenham have three players in the top 10 it shows that manager Mauricio Pochettino’s famously tough training techniques are reaping rich rewards.

So for all the flare there is a key element of hard work that has brought Tottenham to the verge of glory this season, and that only bodes well for the future.
