The Hammers enjoyed a dramatic night at Upton Park on Tuesday, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the dying seconds of extra time to reach the last 16 of the FA Cup.
It was star playmaker Payet who created the winning goal, whipping in a superb cross for Angelo Ogbonna to head home and send Upton Park into delirium.
Payet, 28, has been serving up outstanding performances for West Ham ever since arriving from Marseille over the summer, and has racked up six goals and four assists so far in his debut Premier League campaign.
However, speculation is already surrounding his future. West Ham stated on their official website on Tuesday that they were hoping to agree a new contract with the French star, after claims from The Mirror that Payet had demanded a new contract worth £125,000-a-week.
Sky Sports then reported that an unnamed Chinese club were willing to pay £38m to land Payet, again causing Hammers fans to worry about his future in East London.
Now though, the Daily Mail report that West Ham have in fact already offered a new deal to Payet, with some interesting figures being claimed.
It's stated that the current offer to Payet consists of a £68,000-a-week basic wage, topped up with £25,000 for every appearance, a £1m signing-on fee as well as other bonuses.
That would be a huge deal for West Ham, but as they prepare to move to the Olympic Stadium this summer, they must keep Payet at all costs, especially with the extra funds from the new Premier League TV deal coming up ahead of the new season.
