According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout is attracting interest after some promising displays of late.
Villa sit bottom of the Premier League table and eight points adrift of safety, meaning Remi Garde's men are staring the Championship in the face.
Should Villa drop into the second tier, some of their top players are bound to attract interest, with the likes of Micah Richards, Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Ayew no doubt on the wish list of a number of clubs.
Now though, the Birmingham Mail report that teams have been alerted by Jordan Veretout's displays, and could be interested in signing him if Villa suffer relegation.
Veretout, 22, joined Villa from Nantes over the summer, and whilst he took a while to get settled into life in the Premier League, the Frenchman has shown promise of late.
He picked out a superb pass for Gabriel Agbonlahor's goal against Norwich City on Saturday, and the midfielder clearly has potential to be fulfilled, whether that's at Villa or elsewhere.
It's stated that, whilst Veretout has a long contract at Villa having only signed less than a year ago, Villa could face a fight to keep hold of their promising young midfielder - and Premier League rivals should be monitoring his form ahead of a possible summer move for Veretout.
