Liverpool are out of the FA Cup after a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Tuesday night - but Jamie Carragher moved to praise Lucas Leiva on Twitter.
Michail Antonio's first-half volley but the Hammers in front, and whilst Philippe Coutinho equalised with a second half free kick, Angelo Ogbonna's header in the dying seconds of extra time handed West Ham a passage into the fifth round.
It was another difficult night for the Reds, who handed starts to a number of young players such as Brad Smith, Pedro Chirivella, Kevin Stewart and Joao Teixeira, but it was an experienced head who impressed Jamie Carragher.
Lucas Leiva, normally a defensive midfielder, has been featured at centre back during Jurgen Klopp's reign as Liverpool boss, mostly due to an injury crisis in the middle of the Reds' defence.
The Brazilian started at centre back again on Tuesday night, and impressed against West Ham, with former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher taking to Twitter to state that he was a 'colossus' at Upton Park.
Carragher also admitted that he didn't understand why Klopp had been playing the 29-year-old in defence, but suggested he finally understood the German's thinking.
Couldn't understand Klopp using Lucas at CB in the last few months but looks like he was right! #Colossus— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) February 9, 2016
What did you think of Lucas Leiva's performance against West Ham?
