The Tottenham Hotspur boss is going nowhere according to one of their ex-players.

According to a recent report from the Sun, Manchester United chiefs have contacted representatives of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino to discuss the prospect of the Argentine replacing Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford next season.

Now former Spurs player Graham Roberts has reacted to the claims on Twitter, and he has not held back.

Writing on social media on Tuesday afternoon, Roberts said, “To all Spurs fans don’t listen to what the papers say about Poch. All they are doing is trying to ruin our great season. Poch will stay. COYS.”

Tottenham are currently enjoying a wonderful campaign and are realistic title challengers heading into the final three months of the season.

As things stand the North London club are second in the Premier League, five points behind current leaders Leicester City, and Pochettino deserves enormous credit for building a wonderful squad full of exciting young talent.

Given Tottenham’s achievements this season it is no surprise their manager has been linked with the United job. But Roberts for one clearly feels it is nothing more than paper-talk.

Only time will tell, but with Tottenham very much on the up Pochettino would be wise to stay and continue his great work for years to come.
