The West Ham United winger has been great in recent months.
When Dimitri Payet hit the ground running at West Ham United this season he was quickly touted as their key man and the signing of the season.
Injury struck earlier in the campaign allowing others to take up that mantle, and while Payet is now back in action another West Ham player has arguably become their creative catalyst in the form of Michail Antonio.
The winger had to be extremely patient after arriving from Nottingham Forest; to such an extent that Hammers fans were questioning what exactly was going on behind the scenes with Antonio overlooked time and again.
Whatever the reason, they need worry no longer, with the 25-year-old now one of the first names on manager Slaven Bilic’s team-sheet and rightly so.
Antonio continued his fine form with the first goal in a 2-1 victory against Liverpool on Tuesday evening, and with four goals and two assists in 16 appearances he is quickly challenging Payet as the most effective attacker in West Ham’s ranks.
Of course both men are vital but it is great to see Antonio finally get the credit (and the game-time) he deserves and at this rate he looks set to be the Hammers’ key payer between now and May.
