West Ham would choose FA Cup over Premier League, says Aaron Cresswell

West Ham and Liverpool meet in a fourth round replay at Upton Park tonight.

West Ham United’s stars would sacrifice a league position or two for FA Cup glory, defender Aaron Cresswell has told the club’s official website.

The Hammers host Liverpool at Upton Park on Tuesday evening in a fourth round replay, having managed a 0-0 draw when they clashed at Anfield.

If they were to proceed, it is likely that a decision would be made on whether to focus on the Premier League or the FA Cup, with a place in Europe available from both.

Cresswell though, believes that most of the current squad would be willing to sacrifice one or two positions in the league for a taste of glory in England’s primary cup competition.

“Everyone wants the best of both worlds I suppose,” he told whufc.com.

“We want to finish high up in the Premier League and win the FA Cup Final.”

“If you ask any of the lads though, if they had the chance of getting to Wembley but sacrificing a league position or two – I’m sure they would snap your hand off.”

Slaven Bilic’s side will certainly be confident of securing the win they want on Tuesday evening given the form of both clubs this season.

They have enjoyed themselves against Klopp’s team this season as well, winning both games in the Premier League comfortably with impressive displays.

That is sure to increase their confidence ahead of Tuesday’s clash, with them likely to be hoping they can rediscover that form to ensure they progress to meet Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round.
