Swansea and West Ham have hit the woodwork more times than any teams in the top flight this season.

Swansea City and West Ham United can lay claim to being the two unluckiest teams in the Premier League this season.

The sides have hit the woodwork a combined 29 times, with Swansea doing so on 15 occasions and West Ham 14.

Arsenal have done so 12 times while league leaders Leicester City have done so nine times.

West Ham 14
Arsenal 12
Everton 11
Tottenham 11
Leicester 9

The Hammers have coped well despite their misfortune, currently sitting in sixth place in the Premier League.

Swansea on the other hand could really have done with scoring a few more extra goals, presently battling against relegation, in 16th place with 27 points.

Last season Manchester City hit the woodwork 18 times, the most in the league, with only four teams matching or 'bettering' the 15 which Swansea have already managed after just 25 games.

The Premier League's bottom side Aston Villa can lay no such claims to being unlucky. The club have hit the post or bar just once this season.
