Nabil Bentaleb scored an equalising goal for Tottenham's under-21 side to earn them a draw against Southampton.
The Algerian, 21, stepped down to feature for Ugo Ehiogu's side in order to get much needed game time.
The defensive midfielder has made just two Premier League starts this season due to injury and the form of Eric Dier, and with Spurs coming up to a crucial run of fixtures, they need Bentaleb to stay sharp.
He showed his quality by driving home a strike late in the second half, which goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga perhaps could have done better with.
Bentaleb was a key player for Spurs last season, and they are likely to need him with the Europa League resuming later this month, and a need to rotate the squad.
His goal was notable, but it was the second best of two scored that game, with Southampton youngster Jake Hesketh netting an excellent strike past Spurs stopper Luke McGee.
