Nikica Jelavic’s transfer to West Ham is close to being completed, Sky Sports report on their live transfer blog at 14:50.
The Croatian forward has been linked with leaving the Boleyn Ground for a number of weeks, despite only being signed in the summer transfer window.
He is a favourite of head coach Slaven Bilic, but has done little to prove he can still cut it in the Premier League, managing just one goal in 13 games.
With the deadline day signing of Emmanuel Emenike on loan, and with Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll still to return from injury, Jelavic has been pushed even further down the pecking order.
The 30-year-old has been expected to leave the Hammers, and he is now ’95%’ certain to complete a transfer to Chinese second division side Beijing Renhe.
He will become the latest player to make a big money move to China in recent weeks, and the deal looks set to be completed in the coming days.
However, the club are in no rush to seal a deal, as the Chinese transfer window is open until the end of February.
There is no indication as to the transfer fee the Beijing club will pay for Jelavic, but the Hammers are sure to benefit financially with the large sums of money clubs currently being thrown about by Chinese teams.
