The 18-year-old West Ham United midfielder is currently on loan at Peterborough United.
West Ham United’s Martin Samuelsen has already shown glimpses of his undeniable quality for the Hammers, most notably during pre-season, but this week the teenager has his biggest chance yet to prove he can cut it in the Premier League.
Samuelsen is currently on loan at League One side Peterborough United and they host West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday in a FA Cup fourth round replay.
In the first tie Samuelsen came off the bench for the second half and almost scored a last-minute winner after dribbling past three Baggies players. And now he has the chance to go one better and show he can perform against a top flight club from the outset.
It remains to be seen if Samuelsen will start this week but he should do given his ability and the fact that he will know his parent-club West Ham will be watching very closely.
The 18-year-old will be desperate to prove he is ready for the Hammers’ first-team as early as next season and this is a great opportunity to make his mark.
If Peterborough qualify for the next round they will face Championship side Reading and Samuelsen will know this could be his last chance to impress against top-flight opposition this season.
