The Argentine was sent off 25 minutes into his return from Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Federico Fazio's return to first-team football this weekend gone did not exactly go to plan.
The Argentine made a second debut for Sevilla Sunday evening against Celta Vigo in La Liga. But after just 25 minutes his second debut was over.
He picked up two yellow cards and received his marching orders in a performance that will not have Tottenham Hotspur fans eagerly awaiting his return to England.
It was a poor return to his former club which was saw the defender and his Sevilla boss Unai Emery slammed in the local Spanish press.
Diario de Sevilla was scathing, labeling the episode as 'Una broma propia de carnaval' - a joke straight out of a carnival.'
The player has featured just once for Spurs this season and had only trained with his team for four days prior to the fixture - so throwing him in was Emery's mistake.
But the paper was highly critical of the silly nature of Fazio's two yellow cards - suggesting a seasoned pro should know better. It was certainly a night to forget and the Spurs loanee will need to work hard if he is to change the mind of his public.
