Liverpool's Joao Teixeira singles out two West Ham players for praise

Upton Park

Liverpool and West Ham United go head-to-head this week.

Liverpool player Joao Carlos Teixeira has been speaking to the club’s official website about the upcoming FA Cup fourth round replay against West Ham United.

The 23-year-old has been an ever-present in the competition this season and after scoring one of the goals in a 3-0 victory against Exeter in a third round replay he will be hoping to now make a positive impact against the Hammers.

Teixeira has had to wait patiently for his chances at Anfield, featuring just six times in all competitions. However Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shown a willingness to give everyone a chance and the Portuguese midfielder has the talent to excel.

Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, he said, “We could have won at Anfield but the ball didn’t hit the net. I thought we played better and had more chances.”

Liverpool have had a poor run of form against West Ham this season, and Teixeira has identified two Hammers players for his side to be particularly wary of.

“They are a very good side,” he said. “They have improved a lot; they bought good players in the summer like (Dimitri) Payet and Victor Moses.”

Both could feature this evening, and it is up to Teixeira and his Liverpool teammates to nullify them and keep their FA Cup dream alive in the process.
