Peterborough United midfielder Jack Collison said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSport on Tuesday morning (February 9) that West Ham United will be able to keep hold of Dimitri Payet.
Payet has been one of the best players in the Premier League so far this season and has recently been linked with a move away from West Ham.
According to The Sun, Manchester City are planning a £30 million bid to sign the France international attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports have claimed that a Chinese club are prepared to pay £38m as transfer fee in order to recruit the 28-year-old.
Collison, a former West Ham midfielder, believes that the London outfit will be able to keep hold of Payet.
“He is fast becoming a legend down there, and I think he enjoys being a superstar, being the main man, and he enjoys the love he is getting from the fans,” added Collison.
Payet joined West Ham from French club Marseille in the summer of 2015 and has been truly superb so far this campaign.
The Frenchman has scored six goals and created 64 chances in 18 Premier League appearances for the Hammers.
The attacking midfielder has a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 70%, and has won one header, 45 headers and 12 tackles.
