Ian Wright reacts on Twitter to Nikica Jelavic’s impending transfer to China

Nikica Jelavic is set to sign for Chinese side Beijing Renhe.

Taking to his personal Twitter account, Ian Wright has reacted to the news that Nikica Jelavic is set to leave West Ham United in the coming days.

Jelavic is set to move to Chinese second division side Beijing Renhe, with the Daily Mail claiming a £4 million deal is lined up.

The Croatian striker, 30, only signed for the Hammers over the summer, arriving as a favourite of head coach Slaven Bilic.

However, he has had little impact in the first-team, scoring just one Premier League goal. Even with all the injury troubles West Ham have endured - Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll are currently out of action - Jelavic has rarely featured.

It is clear that Bilic no longer rates the striker as being good enough for his team, with the Hammers pushing for European football this season.

A transfer is lined up, and will be completed before the close of the Chinese transfer window at the end of February.

Wright has admitted that he was surprised that West Ham signed Jelavic to begin with, and he does not look surprised by the fact that the forward is leaving to join a second division Chinese side in the coming weeks.
