West Ham United's Dimitri Payet has been linked with a mega-money move to China.

Don Hutchison has urged West Ham United to offer Dimitri Payet a new contract, after Sky Sports suggested that a Chinese club had made an offer worth £38 million for the attacking midfielder today.

West Ham released an official statement saying that they had offered Payet a new deal, and that talks were progressing well.

But Hutchison wants the Hammers to tie down the 28-year-old Frenchman quickly, to ensure that the speculation does not distract him.

Payet has been nothing short of a revelation at West Ham, since arriving from Marseille during the summer transfer window.

The creator has dazzled the Upton Park crowd with his audacious skills, and he has immediately became a fans’ favourite.

Payet already has six goals and five assists in 22 appearances across all competitions, and he has quickly established himself as Slaven Bilic’s side’s main architect.

Payet’s form has helped West Ham climb into the top six of the Premier League table, with the London club making a push to claim a European spot.
