Dimitri Payet has taken to his personal Twitter account to clarify his future, with a number of rumours going around about his time at the Boleyn Ground.
Payet, who has starred for the Hammers, confirmed that he only has his sights set on being a success with West Ham, rather than moving away or risking his time in East London.
This comes following a statement released on the official West Ham website, which played down rumours that the club were being held ransom by Payet and his agent about a new contract.
The statement read: “Following reports in today’s media, West Ham United would like to clarify that at no time have Dimitri Payet or his agent made any demands to the Club over a new contract.”
It also went on to confirm that the club have opened contract talks with Payet, with plans to extend and improve his deal following his exceptional impact in the Premier League since his summer transfer from Marseille.
The original report came from the Mirror, who claimed that Payet’s agent was forcing West Ham to raise the French playmaker’s wages from £68,000 a week to £125,000 a week.
However, it appears as if these reports are false, with Payet staying loyal to the East London club.
