Atdhe Nuhiu praises Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lewis Price

Sheffield Wednesday 2

Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lewis Price helped the Owls pick up a win against Birmingham City at the weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu has told the Sheffield Telegraph that Lewis Price would be ready to perform at any time of day.

Price was brought into Wednesday’s team during their match against Birmingham City, after Kieran Westwood was forced off with concussion.

And, although the Welsh international may not have been expecting to play, he put in an excellent display as Wednesday picked up a 2-1 win at St. Andrews.

Birmingham scored both their goals through Hooper, who stole the headlines after the match, but Nuhiu was keen to praise Price’s performance.

“Lewis made some very good saves," Nuhiu enthused. "He came from a Premier League club so you expect that from him.

“He is an experienced goalkeeper. You can wake him up at 3am, put him in goal and he will perform. That’s why he has been in the business a long time.

“Lewis had a brilliant game and I think everyone knows you can close your eyes and put him in goal.”

Price’s most notable contribution came in the first-half, when he got down brilliantly to thwart Birmingham striker Clayton Donaldson in a one-on-one situation.

Wednesday’s win over Birmingham has lifted them into the top six, with Carlos Carvalhal’s taking a big step towards achieving their goal.

The Owls have been on the outskirts of the promotion places for some time, but now they have broken into the play off spots they will be determined to protect their spot.
