Watford brought in two players on deadline day of the January transfer window, signing Abdoulaye Doucoure from Rennes after a long-running transfer saga.
However, their second move came out of nowhere, with teenage wonderkid Adalberto Penaranda signing from Udinese before immediately returning to Granada on loan.
The 18-year-old striker, who joined the Pozzo network of clubs in the summer of 2015, has been making his mark in La Liga this season.
Performances of talent and excitement have seen the youngster’s reputation flourish, and he is rumoured to have been tracked by Real Madrid and Barcelona in recent months.
He only made his debut for Granada in November, before netting his first goals in his fourth appearance when he became the youngster foreign player to score a brace in La Liga - beating Lionel Messi’s record.
He returned to the starting XI on Sunday evening, as Granada sought a much needed win against Real Madrid. The minnows ended up losing by a 2-1 scoreline, courtesy of a late Luka Modric winner, with Penaranda lasting 81 minutes of the game.
And watching on, Watford fans would have been excited by their new signing. He was fast and tricky, and a constant thorn in the Madrid defence. He even put the ball in the net before being called offside.
During the game, Watford fans took to Twitter to react to the performance of Penaranda, with many showing their excitement at the chance of seeing the youngster turning out at Vicarage Road in the future.
Penaranda certainly gave a good account of himself, looks like we've got a good talent on our hands #watfordfc— Matt (@hayesyhornet) February 7, 2016

We're all purring over Penaranda but I bet all Quique's seen is his failure to track Carvajal's run for the goal. Damn it Quique! #watfordfc— Forever Hornets (@4everHornets) February 7, 2016
