Sunderland brought in Dame N’Doye, Jan Kirchhoff, Lamine Kone and Wahbi Khazri in the January transfer window.

Sam Allardyce has told BBC Sport that he is delighted with the way Sunderland’s new signings have settled in at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats brought in Dame N’Doye, Jan Kirchhoff, Lamine Kone and Wahbi Khazri during the January transfer window, and all four have now made their debuts.

And Allardyce has been pleased with the way the new quartet have settled in on Wearside.

"Never ever say die; you've got to go until the end," he said. "I'm really pleased about the new guys coming in from abroad into the side.

"Hopefully they're going to drag the rest of the players along with them with their bit of extra quality.”

Sunderland have made vast improvements in their last two matches, with their new signings standing out.

The Black Cats were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City last Tuesday, but the performance Allardyce’s men put in was arguably their finest of the campaign to date.

Kirchhoff and Kone were both in hugely impressive form in the contest, and their performances caught the eye.

The pair built on their showings in that game at the weekend, too, as they helped Sunderland pick up a 2-2 draw with Liverpool, which has moved them to within four points of safety, with Khazri looking great throughout and having a significant impact on the final score.
