Taking to his personal Twitter account, Rodney Marsh has claimed that Leicester winning the Premier League would be the greatest achievement in English football history.
LCFC , all the stars are aligned, will never have been a greater achievement in English football history ...— Rodney Marsh (@RodneyMarsh10) February 8, 2016
The former striker, who played for Leicester’s title rivals Manchester City, has shared the sentiments that many do concerning the Foxes winning the Premier League.
There have been other great successes in English history, with Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa winning the European Cup, Watford winning promotion from the second division and finishing second in the top flight the following season, and a plethora of small clubs rising up the leagues to compete in the top flight.
However, something like this has never been seen in the era of the Premier League, when money has dominated and bought success.
Leicester would win the title ahead of teams who have spent far more money than them, and in this era, t would certainly be an exceptional achievement.
Claudio Ranieri’s men would be playing in the Champions League as minnows, enjoying the greatest moment in their history at a time when it is least expected.
Marsh may have ties with Man City and want them to win the title, but no one can deny that Leicester winning the league would be best for English football.
