Liverpool are reportedly considering a summer move for Antonio Candreva of Lazio, ITA Sport Press reports.
The 28-year-old winger is currently out of action with an injury, having missed the weekend’s game against Genoa.
He has played 19 league games this season, scoring six goals and registering three assists in Serie A.
An Italian international, capped 35 times, Candreva is naturally a right winger, and Jurgen Klopp clearly believes he has a role to play at Anfield in the future.
He is old, seeing as he turns 29 this month, but is clearly talented, and as a short-term purchase he would bring quality to the Reds.
However, the report indicates the offer that Liverpool are considering making, which seems extremely high for a player of his age.
It is stated that a £25 million (€30m) deal could be lined up by the Reds, which is a lot for Candreva at this moment in time.
If Klopp does want him at Anfield, then the fee could be overlooked for the signing of a player who will bring new attacking impetus to the Merseyside giants.
