Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland was a disappointing one for Liverpool as their defence once again let them down.
Having held a 2-0 lead late into the game, the Reds would have been confident of securing all three points, before a mistake from Simon Mignolet and a late Jermain Defoe goal earned the Black Cats a point.
It was a bad day for several players, especially the defence, with the pressure firmly on them to prove that they are good enough to have a long-term future at Anfield.
One player who does look set for a bright future at the club though is winger Jordon Ibe, with many expecting him to follow in the footsteps of Raheem Sterling.
And it transpires he enjoyed some success in Saturday’s draw, as he was better than any other player in the Premier League when it came to dribbling this weekend.
|Match||Total Contest||Won Contest||Mins Played|
|Jordon Ibe||Liverpool vs Sunderland||12||10||45|
|Wilfried Zaha||Swansea vs C. Palace||11||6||90|
Despite only playing for 45 minutes, he managed attempted more dribbles than any other player across this weekend’s game.
He posted an impressive 12 in the game, one more than Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha who managed 11.
He also enjoyed dominance when it came to successful dribbles, posting ten against the Black Cats, four more than Zaha managed against Swansea City.
Two impressive tallies from Ibe then, who will be hoping that his short display has convinced manager Jurgen Klopp to use him more often in the 13 games remaining this season.
