Former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has picked Aston Villa defender Joleon Lescott in his Premier League Team of the Week for The Telegraph.
Lescott was a key player in Villa’s 2-0 victory over fellow relegation candidates Norwich City at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
The 33-year-old defender took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 78%, and made one interception and nine clearances.
Redknapp has also named Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier in his Premier League Team of the Week.
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Leicester City trio Robert Huth, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez, Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino and Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand are also part of the team.
Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey also finds himself in Redknapp’s Premier League Team of the Week.
The 23-year-old was arguably Newcastle’s best player in their 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Swansea City midfielder took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 90%, created three chances, put in three crosses, and made three interceptions.
