Leicester are fighting for the league title along with Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester City.
Redknapp, who has also managed West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers among other clubs, believes that not playing in any other competition will help the Foxes in the final months of the season.
“If you look at their fixtures in the run-in now compared to the others in the title race, you would have to say that it is in their hands,” the Englishman wrote in The Telegraph.
“They have quite a few of the big away trips out of the way, they will only be playing Saturday to Saturday now, while Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all still competing in at least two other competitions.”
Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham all have European competitions this season. While City and Arsenal will feature in the Champions League knockout stages, Spurs have Europa League games coming up.
Arsenal, City and Tottenham are also still in the FA Cup, and this means more games for them.
Leicester can now solely focus on the Premier League, and with a five-point advantage at the top of the table, Claudio Ranieri’s side are rightly being considered as favourites.
The question is whether the Leicester players will be able to remain calm and continue to do what they have been doing so far this season.
