Toumani Diagouraga reacts on Twitter after Leeds United's defeat to Nottingham Forest

Leeds United East Stand

Toumani Diagouraga made his home debut for Leeds United, but they lost 1-0 at to Nottingham Forest.

Leeds United were beaten 1-0 by Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, with midfielder Toumani Diagouraga making his Elland Road debut.

The Whites were looking to build on last weekend's 2-1 FA Cup victory over Bolton Wanderers, but slipped to a narrow defeat thanks to Nelson Oliveira's second half header to win the game for Forest.

The game saw new signing Diagouraga, who joined Leeds from Brentford in January, finally make his home debut after two appearances away from home.

French midfielder Diagouraga started in front of the back four alongside Liam Bridcutt, but couldn't replicate his goalscoring display against Bolton last weekend.

After a disappointing defeat which left Leeds in 16th place, 14 points off the play-offs and 11 points clear of the relegation zone, Diagouraga took to Twitter to send a message to Leeds fans.

Diagouraga admitted that the defeat was 'tough to take' after Leeds had so much possession, but immediately looked ahead to the home game against title-chasing Middlesbrough a week on Monday, which will be another tough test.

Leeds fans then responded, suggesting that Diagouraga was one of the few players to play well against Forest, but noted that Steve Evans' men need to be better in the final third, and play with a higher tempo in a bid to break teams down.

Some also replied by suggesting Leeds should look to sign Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty to boost their attack, with fans unhappy right now.

What did you think of Diagouraga's performance against Nottingham Forest?
