The exciting young Tottenham Hotspur striker returned to scoring ways this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur’s under-18 coach Kieran McKenna has been speaking to the club’s official website about the recent performance of forward Kazaiah Sterling.

The 17-year-old has recently been suffering from injury so his first-half brace in a 2-1 victory against Swansea City’s under-18s was a welcome tonic for the teenager.

However, McKenna feels Sterling could and perhaps should have scored a hat-trick at the very least, such was Tottenham’s dominance in the first 45 minutes.

Speaking to tottenhamhotspur.com, McKenna said, “Obviously it was nice for Kazaiah to get on the score sheet. He’s still recovering from an injury so he’s been working his way back up and for him to get two goals was good. But we should have scored a lot more in the first half really.”

Sterling is one of a number of exciting young players coming through the ranks at White Hart Lane at the moment.

Earlier this season the striker made his debut for Tottenham’s under-21 side and he scored in a memorable 7-4 victory against Leicester City.

A regular scorer at under-18 level, Sterling knows the step up will be a tough one, especially with Shayon Harrison making waves at under-21 level this season.

He will no doubt take McKenna’s latest comments on board and hopefully fill his boots the next time Tottenham’s under-18s are that dominant.
