Tottenham round-up: Pochettino to have first refusal on Berahino this summer; boss hails players' belief

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Sunday People, Tottenham Hotspur well get first refusal on West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino this summer.

The England under-21 international was heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane before the start of the season, but during the January transfer window it seemed to be a straight battle between Newcastle United and Stoke City for his signature.

However, the Baggies held firm and for now Berahino remains at The Hawthorns. But following Alex Pritchard’s loan move to Tony Pulis’s side it is being claimed West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is how happy to make concessions in regards to how Tottenham would pay for the 22-year-old (in instalments rather than a lump sum).

In other news, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Mail that his players are starting to believe they can win the Premier League title this season.

Spurs moved up to second after their 1-0 victory against Watford on Saturday and the Argentine said, “You can see in their eyes, the feeling, the energy, that they believe.”
