Tottenham Hotspur loanee Federico Fazio sent off 25 minutes into second Sevilla debut

The Argentine did not have the impact he would have wanted this evening.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Federico Fazio's return to first-team football has not exactly gone to plan.

The Argentine made a second debut for Sevilla this evening against Celta Vigo in La Liga. But after just 25 minutes his second debut was over.

He picked up two yellow cards and received his marching orders in a performance that will not have Tottenham Hotspur fans eagerly awaiting his return to England.

Tottenham have the likes of Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Kevin Wimmer and Eric Dier possible in the defensive options and Fazio is likely to move on in the summer.

The Argentine international has played just once this season, in a Capital One Cup defeat to North London rivals Arsenal as the arrival of Alderweireld and Wimmer pushed him down the pecking order.

So the move to Sevilla, where he previously played prior to his Tottenham Hotspur switch, was supposed to be his big opportunity to remind people of his talents.

Unfortunately that idea has not got off to the greatest of starts and he will be hoping to improve ahead of his next appearance with his loan club.
