Stan Collymore reacts to Olivier Giroud’s performance against Bournemouth

The Arsenal striker was disappointing in the 2-0 win over the Cherries.

Writing on Twitter, Stan Collymore has criticised Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud’s performance in Sunday’s win over Bournemouth.

The Gunners were 2-0 victors in Sunday’s game, with the result taking them back to third in the table and five points behind leaders Leicester City.

However, it was another all round disappointing display for Frenchman Giroud who failed to have much impact in the game beyond setting up the opening goal for midfielder Mesut Ozil.

And Collymore has criticised him on Twitter, saying that he must work much harder when his side take on Claudio Ranieri’s side at the Emirates next week.

Perhaps now would be a perfect opportunity for Arsene Wenger to drop Giroud as he struggles for form in recent weeks.

The options are there for Wenger, with Theo Walcott now back fully fit and having impressed when played in that central role earlier in the campaign.

However, he has managed just three goals in the Premier League this season, the same as defender Laurent Koscielny, suggesting that perhaps the Arsenal boss is not willing to take the risk with them trailing in the title race.
