Newcastle United attacker Siem de Jong has taken to social networking site Twitter to give an update on his injury situation.
De Jong, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a striker, is currently on the sidelines with an eye problem.
The Netherlands international suffered the injury in training last month, but he is on the mend.
The 27-year-old has taken to Twitter to give an update on the situation, with Newcastle fans responding to his message on the social networking site.
@siemdejong you have to be the unluckiest footballer with oddball injuries? Try and keep yourself for now please!— Iain Douglas (@Iain_Douglas) February 7, 2016
@siemdejong need you and the other injured players back soon, squad game and we'll need everyone before end of season— MrCynical (@DaveLogan3) February 7, 2016
The eye problem is the latest misfortune to hit De Jong since he joined Newcastle from Dutch giants Ajax in the summer of 2014.
The Dutchman has suffered with fitness issues and a collapsed lung, and has been able to make just 22 appearances for the Magpies.
De Jong is a very talented player and arrived in the Premier League with a strong reputation, but he has just not been fit enough to show what he is capable of.
